Shoot ´em to Protect ´em
(Protect your newly-made and antique quilts!)
- = Snap photographs of ALL of your quilts (front, back, details). Make a CD or duplicate photos and store in a safe place!
- = Have at least ONE appraisal of one of your newly-made quilts! The appraisal provides a record of your workmanship and is important if you have to file an insurance claim.
- = Only use quality products (fabric, thread, embellishments) in constructing your quilt. It’s not a bargain if your fabric fades or your thread doesn’t stay stitched!!!!!
- = Over and over and over “show off” your completed top/quilt!!! It’s important, others, especially your quilt shop folks, know about the fabric you use and the quality of your workmanship. They may be asked to write a letter verifying this information if you have to file an insurance claim! ♥♥♥LOVE YOUR QUILT SHOP♥♥♥
- =Take the time to make and attach a label on the back of all of your quilts, both newly-made and antique/vintage.
Taking these few steps will give you “added” insurance if your quilt is ever damaged or lost!!!! These precautions were learned from folks who experienced quilts lost in fires and from theft. Yes, quilts are damaged and they are also stolen. One final precaution is to NEVER put the word, “QUILT” on a package you are shipping. You can put “fabric” or “material.”
